Contact Day #2!

Hi Team!!

Just a reminder that tomorrow (June 6th) is our second contact day!  We will meet again at Appleton East from 9:15-11:30.  Coach K and I have planned a super-fun activity for you guys to work on--you won't want to miss this one!

Also--don't forget to bring your permission slip and $40 for next Tuesday's trip to Noah's Ark!

Noah's Ark Trip Info!

Come Join Us for a Super-Fun Day at Noah’s Ark!

Who:  2016 AW-K Girls Swimming & Diving Team

When:  Tuesday, July 12, 2016

Time:  Bus leaves from in front of the Appleton West Pool at 8:00 am and returns to the Appleton West Pool at 8:00 pm

Cost:  $40 per swimmer  ($24.99 for ticket, plus bus costs).  Please make checks out to Appleton West Girls Swimming & Diving.  You can bring the money and permission slip to our July 6^th Contact Day, or mail your permission slip and fees to me at Appleton West (610 N. Badger Ave., Appleton, WI 54914).  You will not be able to go on the trip without paying your fees and turning in your permission slip.

Bring:  swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, flip flops, lunch money or a bagged lunch, and money to stop for dinner (Noodles, Jimmy John’s--approximately $10) and your completed permission slip.

Fall Sports Paperwork Due Soon!

Hi Team!

Just checking in to make sure you are all working on getting your paperwork & fees turned in to the Kimberly & Appleton West offices.  The deadline for Kimberly athletes is July 8th, which is just around the corner.  If you have not scheduled your sports physical, you need to do so, ASAP!  If you click on the "Forms" link on the right side of this page, it will take you right to all the paperwork that you need to print and fill out.  Kimberly athletes turn their paperwork into the Kimberly office, and Appleton West athletes turn their paperwork into the Appleton West office.

In addition, there is a $50 athletic fee for all Kimberly and Appleton West swimmers and divers.   Checks need to be made out to Appleton West and can be mailed or delivered to Appleton West (610 N. Badger Ave. Appleton, WI 54914).

Athletes will not be able to participate on August 9th if all of their paperwork and fees are not turned in.  Please note, I am not allowed to collect forms or fees at practices or contact days;  both schools want you to turn forms in directly to the office.

Team Bonding Activity!

Hi Team!

Come on out this Tuesday, June 28th, to watch Finding Dory with the team!  All new and returning team members are invited!  Your captain, Fe, has planned this super-fun bonding activity, and she will be waiting in the lobby at the Hollywood Theater (513 N. Westhill Blvd., Appleton) at 1:45 for the 2:20 show.  Tickets are $5 each.  Bring extra money if you want snacks, etc.

Hope to see a big bunch of you there!

Contact Day #1!!

Hi Team!

Our first summer contact day is only a little over a week away--I'm so excited!!  Contact days are so much fun--we will do a big bunch of team building and then swim for a bit. I will also have all the details and a permission slip for our Noah's Ark trip.   Don't forget that our contact days are held at Appleton East pool.  Here are all the details:

Date:  Thursday, June 23rd
Time:  9:15-11:30
Place:  Appleton East High School Pool
Please bring: suit, towel, goggles, cap,  & water bottle

Slight Schedule Change

Hi Team,

I just found out that I will be heading out of town on June 15th to go to my daughter's registration at Boston University, so I need to change the date of our first contact day to Thursday, June 23rd, from 9:15-11:30.  I hope this day still works for all of you.  I can't wait to get things started!

Summer Contact Days Info

Hi Team!

Things are starting to get exciting around here--both Fall Sports Nights are this month (see the previous post), and before you know it, school will be over, and it will be time for our summer contact days!  Contact days give us a chance to do some team building before the season begins on August 9th.  They also let Coach K and I do a bit of stroke evaluation and see where people are at, skill-wise.   The Appleton West pool gets drained over the summer, so our June and July contact days will be held at Appleton East High School pool.  Please wear your swimsuit and bring goggles, a towel, and a water bottle to Appleton East.  In addition, we will have one contact day where we will be in the weight room learning our season lifting program.  On that day, please wear workout clothes and gym shoes and bring a water bottle.

Here are the dates:

June 23rd 9:15-11:30 at Appleton East Pool
July 6,  18, &  27 9:15-11:30 at Appleton East Pool
August 2nd--meet in the pool lobby at Appleton West, then we will go to the weight room.

Your 2016 captains requested that this year's contact days be spread out over the summer. We hope that some or all of these days will fit into your summer schedule.  Contact days are not mandatory, but they are fun, so we hope that you can join us for all 5 of them!

Finally, your captains have planned a fun team trip to Noah's Ark on Tuesday, July 12. All incoming freshmen, current team members, and 2016 grads are welcome to join us!  We will rent a bus and head over there together.  All the details and a permission slip will be available at both Fall Sports Nights.
